Liverpool have received a boost regarding the condition of their striker Hugo Ekitiké, with indications emerging about a possible return to action following his Achilles tendon injury in April and subsequent surgery.

French newspaper "L'Équipe" reported that Hugo Ekitiké is targeting a return to the pitch in November, with the possibility of his appearance being postponed to December. It noted that the player recently traveled to the United States to visit a specialist and monitor his recovery process.

The French forward is continuing his rehabilitation program after participating a few weeks ago in individual training at the French national team's training base in Clairefontaine. He is currently able to run and is targeting a return to full fitness before the end of the year.

Liverpool have included Hugo Ekitiké in their UEFA Champions League squad, despite his long-term injury. Manager Andoni Iraola commented on this last month, confirming that the player still has a significant part of his recovery programme ahead of him.

Andoni Iraola has stated that the decision to include Hugo Ekitiké in the squad was due to the hope and realistic chance that he could help the team during January, while confirming that it is still early to discuss the timing of his return.
