Oblak regains form with Atlético
Jan Oblak appears to be regaining his best form with Atlético after benefiting from a full pre-season this summer, following years in which he was unable to undergo long preparations as usual.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", the Slovenian goalkeeper told a few close associates: "I haven't gone through this number of training sessions during pre-season in years", after starting preparations from day one and working fully with goalkeeper coach Pablo Vercellone.
The results of these preparations are starting to show with Jan Oblak, especially with the Slovenia national team, where he kept a clean sheet in two matches, including the clash against Scotland, where he excelled with three outstanding saves, alongside the match against North Macedonia.
With Atlético, Jan Oblak has kept clean sheets in three matches against Málaga, Real Sociedad, and CA Osasuna during eight matches, while conceding seven goals in La Liga, making him one of the goalkeepers with the least goals conceded in the competition.
In the UEFA Champions League, Oblak conceded two goals against Liverpool, having made several impressive saves before the first goal. The Slovenian goalkeeper aims to continue improving his performance in order to win the Zamora Trophy for the seventh time and enhance his record as the goalkeeper with the most wins of the award.
