Liverpool lead the race to sign Uruguay talent
Liverpool have emerged as one of the leading candidates to sign Nicolás Scotti, a 16-year-old winger from Defensa y Justicia, according to TEAMtalk, after the player caught the attention as one of the top rising talents in South America.
Scotty has made his debut with his club's first team and represented the Uruguay U17 national team. He excels at playing on the wings, primarily on the right side, and possesses speed and technical skills.
Liverpool are closely monitoring the player's development, with Arsenal and Manchester United also keeping an eye on him, alongside Sao Paulo, Clube Atlético Mineiro, and Borussia Dortmund.
Scottie's release clause is around $8 million, with the possibility of completing the deal for a lower amount. However, his transfer to England currently faces an obstacle due to FIFA regulations that prevent foreign players under 18 from moving to British clubs.
A pre-agreed deal with a European club remains the most realistic option, with the final transfer set to occur after Scott turns 18 in November 2027, while the player continues to gain experience with his first team in Uruguay.
