Frisenda returns to Barcelona's radar

Ivane Urrubal, the full-back of Sporting Lisbon, has returned to the interest of FC Barcelona, after the Portuguese newspaper "O Jójó" linked the player to the Catalan club, coinciding with his club's attempts to renew his contract, which runs until 2028.

Fresinda, aged 22, is currently with the Spanish national team after being promoted from the Under-21s due to Erik García's injury. The newspaper noted FC Barcelona's interest in the player, without revealing any discussions between the two parties.

FC Barcelona showed interest in Fresneda in 2023 when he was a player at Real Valladolid CF, as representatives from Lian Sports Group held meetings with the Catalan club, which had good reports on him. However, other needs prevented the deal from being completed.

At that time, the release clause in his contract was €20 million, while Real Valladolid CF requested €9 million, and Borussia Dortmund showed interest in signing him, before he eventually transferred to Sporting for €9 million, plus €3 million in variables, with Real Valladolid CF receiving 10% of the value of any future sale.
