Morocco beat Lesotho to secure second win in Africa Cup of Nations Qualification

Morocco continues its strong start in Africa Cup of Nations Qualification, achieving its second consecutive victory by defeating Lesotho 2-0 in the match held today, Tuesday, at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Morocco's coach, Mohamed Wahbi, made several changes to the starting lineup compared to the previous match against Gabon, bringing in Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Zakaria Wahidi, and Osama Tirgalin, while the "Atlas Lions" imposed their control over the game from the start.

Morocco relied on possession and pressing in Lesotho's half, depending on the movements of Ismail Sabiri, the shots of Azzedine Ounahi, and the runs of Brahim Díaz. However, haste in front of goal and a lack of focus prevented them from capitalizing on the chances that arose during the first half.

Morocco waited until the last minute of the first half to open the scoring, as Brahim Díaz capitalized on a defensive mix-up from the Lesotho national team to put the Moroccan team ahead just moments before the end of the first half, raising his tally with the national team to 15 goals.

The shape of the match did not change much after the break, as Morocco continued to dominate possession and impose their rhythm. Wahbi intervened with attacking substitutions, bringing on Abde Ezzalzouli and Soufiane Rahimi to inject more vitality into the front line in the final minutes.

The Moroccan pressure paid off as they scored their second goal in the 82nd minute, with Azzedine Ounahi capitalizing on a decisive pass from Soufiane Rahimi to find the back of the net, ensuring the 'Lions' victory with a clean two-goal margin.

Morocco tried to extend their lead during the remaining minutes, but they were unable to add any more goals, ending the match with a 2-0 victory and collecting three new points that raise their tally to six points, at the top of their group, after achieving two consecutive wins in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.
