Kalulu and Juventus: Beginning to move for contract extension

Juventus are moving to extend the contract of their French defender Pierre Kalulu, who has become a key figure in the team's new project, amid the great confidence he enjoys from coach Luciano Spalletti and the club's management.

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Kalulu has a strong presence in the dressing room, being seen as one of the players with leadership qualities, alongside his technical importance on the pitch. Despite previous interest from clubs in the Premier League and elsewhere, Juventus were not willing to part with him during the last summer transfer window, considering him an important part of their plans for the next phase.

French defender Pierre Kalulu is contracted to Juventus until 2029, earning around €2.5 million annually. The club paid over €14 million to sign him after the end of his first loan period, with the possibility of the deal rising to around €17 million after accounting for bonuses.

Juventus' management sees that Kalulu's current salary makes him susceptible to interest from major clubs, especially with his wage being lower compared to some players of the same level. Therefore, the idea of improving his contract and elevating his financial status within the team has begun. This comes alongside Spalletti's and the management's desire to retain the player and give him a more significant role, which could make him one of the "veterans" of the team and a leader in Juventus' long-term project.
