Morocco national team continues preparations for Lesotho clash

Morocco continues its preparations in Bloemfontein, South Africa, ahead of their match against Lesotho, scheduled for next Tuesday, in the second round of Group A in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027.

Morocco's national team players held their first training session today since their arrival in South Africa, at the Ramaphosa Stadium in the Rocklands area. The technical staff dedicated a large part of the training to working on technical and tactical aspects in preparation for the upcoming match.

All players currently in the Moroccan national team's squad participated in training in Bloemfontein as they prepare for their second match in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.

Meanwhile, defender Nayef Aguerd continues his special recovery program and gradual return to competition at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura, after missing the national team squad that traveled to South Africa.

Nayef Aguerd is undergoing a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the national U23 team staff, while remaining available for the senior national team in preparation for the friendly match against Ghana, scheduled for October 4 in Tangier.

The Moroccan national team ended the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification at the top of Group A with three points, ahead of Niger on goal difference (+2) as they also have the same points but with a goal difference of +1.

Lesotho and Gabon sit in third and fourth place respectively, with no points, ahead of the second round of matches.

Morocco will visit Lesotho on Tuesday, September 29, in Bloemfontein at 4 PM Mecca time, which is 1 PM GMT, at the Free State Toyota Stadium.

The Atlas Lions are aiming for another positive result against Lesotho to strengthen their position at the top of the group and continue their strong start in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027.
