Morocco squad arrives in South Africa ahead of Lesotho clash

The Morocco national football team has arrived in South Africa early this Sunday morning, coming from Morocco, in preparation for their match against Lesotho in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Atlas Lions have begun their preparations in South Africa ahead of the match scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein, starting at 1 PM Moroccan time.

Morocco's national team arrived in South Africa with high spirits after starting their qualifying campaign with a victory over Gabon, winning two goals to nil in the match held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Coach Mohamed Wahbi is finalizing the technical and tactical aspects during the upcoming training sessions, as well as addressing some points that emerged during the match against Gabon, before facing a different test against Lesotho.

The national team squad saw the attendance of all players called up for the camp, including Tawfik Ben Taib, who missed the first match, and Brahim Díaz, who has overcome the muscle pains he was suffering from.

Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari continue to train with the group despite their absence from the upcoming match due to suspension.

Morocco hopes to build on its positive start and achieve its second consecutive victory to continue gathering points and strengthen its position in the race for qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, which is set to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

In contrast, Lesotho are looking to correct their course in the qualifiers after starting their campaign with a 2-1 loss to Niger, which means they need to achieve a positive result against Morocco.
