FIFA punishes Fenerbahçe over Youssef En-Nesyri transfer fees

Fenerbahçe has received a temporary ban from FIFA, preventing them from registering new players for three transfer windows due to outstanding financial obligations related to the transfer of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad.

The case dates back to Youssef En-Nesyri's transfer from Sevilla to Fenerbahçe during the summer of 2024, before he departed from the Turkish club in February 2026 to join Al-Ittihad in a deal worth around €15 million.

Fenerbahçe has revealed that the sanction issued by FIFA is temporary, confirming its commitment to pay the amount set by the international federation on Monday, with the registration ban to be lifted after completing the official procedures with FIFA.

The crisis began after the Turkish club delayed a payment due to Sevilla as part of the transfer deal for Youssef En-Nesyri, prompting the Spanish club to turn to FIFA, which also issued a ruling regarding the next payment.

Fenerbahçe has confirmed its intention to resolve the issue at the earliest opportunity by settling the required financial obligations and lifting the imposed penalty.

Despite En-Nesyri's departure from the Turkish club and his move to Al-Ittihad, the Moroccan striker's name has been linked to the case, as he is part of the deal that caused the current financial crisis between Fenerbahçe and Sevilla.
