Al Ahly requests exemption for international players from match against South Africa

Al Ahly FC has begun to take action to prevent its players from falling into the trap of physical exhaustion before the anticipated showdown against Zamalek SC in the Egyptian League, scheduled for October 11. In this context, the club is looking to communicate with the Football Association to exempt its international players from participating in the upcoming Friendlies against South Africa, ensuring they are fully prepared for the match.

Al Ahly FC are focused on protecting their players as part of coach Al-Hussein Amouta's plan ahead of the Cairo derby. The task becomes more complicated as the match follows directly after the international break, with the Pharaohs facing a busy schedule that includes two tough encounters against Angola and South Africa, making the preservation of the physical condition of the Red players the top priority for the coaching staff.

Al Ahly FC officials believe that the international players' participation in the Friendlies, along with the physical effort and travel involved, may impact their readiness ahead of the clash with Zamalek SC, given the limited time available for the coaching staff to rehabilitate and prepare them for the anticipated match.

Al Ahly FC will face their traditional rivals Zamalek SC on Sunday, October 11, at Cairo International Stadium, in the sixth round of the Egyptian League.
