Atangana: "Roshan" my platform towards representing France and the Champions League

Valentin Atangana, Al Ahly FC player, has revealed his ambition to reach the UEFA Champions League and wear the French national team jersey, confirming that success with his Saudi club represents his first step.

Atangana stated in remarks to the French newspaper "L'Équipe": "I am an ambitious player, and I want to play in the UEFA Champions League and represent the French national team, but I must succeed with Al Ahly FC first."

The 21-year-old player expressed his happiness playing with Al Ahly FC and settling in Saudi Arabia, explaining that the Saudi Pro League provides him with a suitable environment to develop his talent and abilities and reach higher levels.

Atangana spoke about his partnership with Ivorian Franck Kessié, stating that the latter takes on defensive duties when he pushes forward, and vice versa. He added that playing alongside a player of Kessié's caliber automatically contributes to his development.

Atangana began his career at Stade Reims' academy in 2015, and he made his first-team debut in 2021, before signing his first professional contract in 2022 and renewing it in 2023. He then transferred to Al Ahly FC, and he has participated in 11 matches this season, scoring one goal.
