Dounis: We are addressing missed chances and Al-Aqidi and Al-Qahtani will miss Oman

Greek coach Georgios Donis has revealed that Nawaf Al-Aqidi and Mohammed Al-Qahtani will miss Saudi Arabia's match against Oman on Saturday, as part of the second round of the group stage of the Gulf Cup 27.

Denis explained that Nawaf Al-Aqidi is struggling with a tough injury, while Mohammed Al-Qahtani is absent due to illness, having been unable to participate in the national team's training over the past two days.

The coach confirmed that the preparations of the national team are going well, emphasizing that the technical staff is focusing on player recovery and physical readiness. They are also studying the Oman national team and the standout players it possesses.

Donis spoke about the missed chances against Kuwait, emphasizing that the coaching staff is working to address this issue through training, alongside developing the counter-pressing that the players have undergone special training on.

The coach justified relying on Abdullah Al-Hamdan as a starter, emphasizing the need to support all players. He pointed out that the striker has positive aspects and abilities that need to be developed while continuing to grant him confidence.

In contrast, Abdulilah Al-Amri, defender of the Saudi Arabia national team, has confirmed the readiness of the Green Falcons players for the match, pointing out that the backline enjoys understanding and integration and works as a single unit on the pitch.

Al-Omari emphasized the difficulty of the tournament teams, stating that the players will implement the coaching staff's instructions in search of victory and to secure all points against Oman, while delivering a performance that satisfies the Saudi Arabian fans.
