Concern in Paris over Mika Godts' start with Paris Saint-Germain

Belgian Mika Godts is experiencing a tough start at Paris Saint-Germain after his summer transfer from Ajax, in a deal that could reach a value of €55 million including variables.

Goudet has arrived in Paris after a standout season with Ajax, during which he scored 17 goals and provided 15 assists in 44 matches across all competitions. However, his adaptation to Luis Enrique's team is progressing at a slower pace than expected.

The 21-year-old Belgian winger has participated in six matches so far, all as a substitute, including one match in the UEFA Champions League against Slovan Bratislava where he played for 26 minutes, alongside five appearances in Ligue 1 totaling 118 minutes.

Goudet has scored just one goal in his current contributions, while providing an assist against Lille. However, his overall level has not yet reached the expectations placed upon him. French media reports indicate that Luis Enrique is expecting him to raise his level and compete more fiercely for a starting position.

Paris Saint-Germain does not view the player's situation as a crisis at this time, as the club understands the need for time to adapt to a new competition, a new country, and different tactical requirements. Meanwhile, French media have started to include Doku among the players who have not delivered the expected level at the start of the season.

Gourcuff is currently getting opportunities mainly as a substitute, where Luis Enrique relies on him in the second half to take advantage of his speed and dribbling ability, given the strong competition for attacking positions in Paris Saint-Germain.

The current international break could be a crucial opportunity for Jérémy Doku to regain his confidence, after he was called up by coach Mark van Bommel to the Belgium national team, following his absence from the squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Jérémy Doku's physical issues may open the door for more participation for Belgium's left winger, as his readiness remains uncertain.

Goudet will try to use his time with Belgium to gain playing minutes and regain his form and confidence before returning to Paris and continuing to compete for a starting spot in Luis Enrique's lineup.
