Gabriel Jesus nears first start with FC Barcelona

Gabriel Jesus is approaching his first start for FC Barcelona, with the opportunity likely to come against Getafe on October 10, given the expected fatigue of Raphinha after his participation with Brazil during the international break.

According to "Sport", the coaching staff led by Hans Flick is monitoring the number of minutes Raphinha will participate with Brazil, especially with the long journey the national team is undertaking between Australia and India, which will reach about 34,000 kilometers.

Jesus has made limited appearances for FC Barcelona so far, scoring two goals in just 41 minutes after coming on as a substitute. He netted his first goal against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League, and then found the net against Racing Santander in LaLiga, in both matches where Lamine Yamal provided the assists.

Flick may give Jesus a chance to start against Getafe, especially with LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League returning after the international break. The player is currently taking advantage of this period to work with the coach and the players at FC Barcelona to regain his fitness.

Jesus confirmed to Sport on September 14 that he still needs to regain his rhythm after suffering a cruciate ligament injury a year and a half ago, alongside adapting to the team.
