Tottenham fans demand return of Pochettino to replace De Zerbi

Roberto De Zerbi is under increasing pressure at Tottenham after a disastrous start to the Premier League season, with Spurs sitting at the bottom of the table after five matches without a win.

A difficult start coincided with spending over £400 million to sign ten players during the summer transfer window, raising expectations regarding the team's performance and results.

In these circumstances, Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham manager, believes that the club's fans may prefer the return of the Argentine Maurício Pochettino if the management decides to sack De Zerbi. Sherwood said, according to The Standard: "Tottenham fans would prefer Maurício Pochettino over Roberto De Zerbi."

Maurício Pochettino previously managed Tottenham for five and a half years before his dismissal in 2019, just a few months after leading the team to the UEFA Champions League final. During his time at the club, he achieved second and third place in the Premier League, despite not winning any trophies.

Sherwood pointed out that the size of summer spending increases the pressure on De Zerbi, stating: "I can think of many managers who would have wished to spend £400 million on their squad." This comes at a time when Tottenham's poor results are raising speculation about the future of the Italian manager.
