Fabian Ruiz hints at his ambition to win the Ballon d'Or

Fabian Ruiz, the Spanish player of Paris Saint-Germain, has opened the door to the possibility of winning the Ballon d'Or in 2026 after an exceptional season in which he clinched several titles with his club and national team.

Ruiz, during the international break, responded to a question from the Spanish press about his chances of winning the award, saying: "Well... as I said, why not?".

The Spanish midfielder added: "In fact, at the collective level, I am the player who has won the most titles. I believe the number reached seven last season."

At 30 years old, Ruiz has had an impressive record during the 2025-2026 season, contributing to Paris Saint-Germain's second UEFA Champions League title in its history, before finishing the season by winning the World Cup with the Spain national team.

Ruiz has faced criticism from some Paris Saint-Germain fans after joining the club, but he has managed to change that perception over time, becoming one of the key players in coach Luis Enrique's team and positioning himself among the candidates for the Ballon d'Or.
