Samuele Inácio: I chose Italy despite Brazil's attempts

Samuele Inácio, a player for Borussia Dortmund, has confirmed that the Brazilian Football Confederation tried to persuade him to represent the Brazil national team, but he has decided to continue his international career with Italy, having previously represented its youth teams.

Samuele Inácio said: "Yes, the coach of the Brazil Under-23 national team sent me a message expressing his desire to speak with me and my father. We held a meeting and, of course, considered all the available options, but I chose Italy at this stage because I feel more Italian."

The player, who holds both Brazilian and Italian nationalities, added: "Playing for Brazil would be a dream, just like playing for Italy, since I hold both Brazilian and Italian identities together, but I have always played with Italy's youth teams."

Samuele Inácio expressed his biggest ambition on the international stage, stating: "For me, the biggest dream is to win the FIFA World Cup with Italy."
