Harry Kane hints at contract renewal with Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that he is close to reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich regarding the extension of his contract, confirming that negotiations between the two parties are progressing positively, despite some details that still need to be resolved.

Harry Kane's contract with the Bavarian club, at 33 years old, expires at the end of the current season, allowing him to enter negotiations with other clubs starting in January. However, current indications suggest that he is likely to continue with Bayern Munich in the upcoming period.

Kane said in an interview with The Standard during the international break: "We are still talking. The negotiations are going well, and honestly, we are very close to reaching an agreement. There are still a few things we need to sort out, but I am happy there. I don't think it will be long before something is announced."

The England captain also spoke about the race for the Ballon d'Or, with several candidates including Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, in repeated media interviews discussing their chances of winning the award.

Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane clarified his stance on this approach, stating: "Everyone has the right to do what they want in this situation. It is clear that the Ballon d'Or has become bigger and more important in recent years, mainly due to social media, where there is a lot of noise surrounding it. For me, the idea of talking about myself in this way does not align with my personality."

He added: "I feel a greater pride when others talk about me, whether they are current teammates or former players, and praise what I have done. This makes me prouder than talking about myself."

Regarding his chances of winning the award, Kane pointed out that winning it would represent an important achievement for him, saying: "It would be amazing for me, and I would be very proud of it. If some candidates have more or fewer interviews, that might affect the discussion around the award, but time will tell what will happen, and in the end, the voters will vote for who they want."

The voting process for the Ballon d'Or will close on September 29, with the winner determined by the voting results.
