Amr Samaka announces return to Al Ahly FC

Former Al Ahly FC player Amr Samaka has returned to the club after about 10 years of retirement to take over as the head coach of the Al Ahly Academy branch in Mokattam.

Amr Samaka stated in an interview with Al Ahly TV: "Yes, I have become the head coach of Al Ahly's academy branch in Mokattam. This is my first year at Al Ahly in a professional capacity. The club's management spoke to me and offered me this position, and I am a product of Al Ahly's youth system. My task is to scout for talent and develop the performance of the youth players."

Amr Samaka joined Al Ahly FC as a player in 2005 from Tersana FC, but he soon left for Kazma after just two seasons.

In 2009, Samaka returned to Tersana FC before moving to Al Gouna, and then to Petrojet, followed by a professional stint in Lebanon with Safa Beirut.

Former left winger Amr Samaka concluded his football career at Tersana FC in 2016 after a brief stint with Telephonat Beni Suef, leaving the pitch with an impressive trophy haul. He won 5 titles with Al Ahly FC (2 Egyptian Premier League titles, 2 CAF Champions League titles, and 1 Egyptian Super Cup), in addition to winning the Lebanese Premier League with Safa Beirut.
