Hamza Abdelkarim faces opportunity to prove himself with Egypt national team

Hamza Abdelkarim has joined the Egypt national team camp and started training under Hossam Hassan in preparation for the matches against Angola and South Sudan in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.

FC Barcelona forward Hamza Abdelkarim is experiencing limited participation with his team, having played only 4 official minutes this season against Rayo Vallecano, amid competition with Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus for the striker position.

According to 'Sport', Hossam Hassan has not decided on the main striker against South Sudan, with Hamza Abdelkarim among the options alongside Omar Marmoush and Zizo, giving the FC Barcelona player a chance to earn important minutes with the national team.

Hamza Abdelkarim scored four goals in five matches during pre-season with FC Barcelona, before making his official debut against Rayo Vallecano. After renewing his contract until 2030, the player said: "I know that the minutes will come."

The international break represents an opportunity for Hamza Abdelkarim to gain extra minutes and return to FC Barcelona with hopes of enhancing his chances of participating under Hans Flick.
