"Gulf Cup 27" opens the door for a new generation of talents

The lists for 'Gulf 27' reveal a young generation awaiting their chance with Gulf and Arab national teams, coinciding with the approach of the AFC Asian Cup 2027, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia early next year.

The tournament provides coaching staff the opportunity to test new talents in a real international competition, with Saudi Arabia's Hamid Al-Shanqeeti, aged 21, standing out as the youngest in Georgios Donis' squad and the only one without international experience with the Green Falcons.

Al-Shanqiti has established himself with Al-Khulood, participating in every minute of the Saudi Pro League this season and making 13 saves. He has also played over 20 matches with youth national teams and was crowned the best goalkeeper at the AFC Asian Cup under 20.

Iraqi talent Youssef Nasrawi, 19, is among the most promising prospects after growing up in Bayern Munich's academy and playing over 70 matches for youth teams and the second team, before moving to Red Bull Salzburg.

The scene also includes Yemeni player Adel Abbas, 18, Kuwaiti Jassim Al-Matar, 20, and Qatari Tahseen Jamshid, 20, all of whom have different experiences with their national teams and clubs, including key appearances and goals.
