Busquets takes first steps towards coaching at FC Barcelona

Sergio Busquets has embarked on a new phase in his career after retiring from football last December at the age of 37, joining the coaching staff of FC Barcelona Atlètic under Brazilian Juliano Belletti as he begins his journey in the world of coaching.

FC Barcelona announced in mid-August that Sergio Busquets joined the B team as an assistant coach. The former player is currently participating in training in a more observational role rather than an active one, and he attends the team's matches at Johan Cruyff Stadium from the stands, without traveling with the team at this time.

Sergio Busquets is set to begin his UEFA A coaching course in the coming weeks, which is a program that many former players start their coaching careers with. After obtaining the license, he will be able to work as a coach for some national youth teams, or as an assistant within the first team's coaching staff, with the next step being to obtain the UEFA PRO license, which is the highest coaching license and allows him to manage teams starting from the third tier of the Spanish league, "Primera Federación."

Sergio Busquets is approaching his coaching debut calmly and without haste, enjoying good rapport with Billeti and Fran Sánchez, the assistant coach, who are the most receptive to his technical observations. So far, his participation with the players has been limited to some tactical notes, particularly with the midfielders, as he aims to transition from reading the game as a player to having a broader perspective from the coach's position.

Sergio Busquets has chosen to join the coaching staff ahead of the training camp, aiming to gain experience and better prepare for the next phase.
