According to what Ahmed Hassan reported from a responsible source within Al Ahly FC, the management is currently deliberating between three prominent names of Egyptian defenders to sign one of them in the upcoming January transfer window. The trio includes Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Hossam Abdel-Meguid, and Omar Fayad, as the management seeks to open serious negotiation lines to finalize the contract with the most notable name among them.

In this context, the source indicated a strong trend within the Red Castle to contract another foreign defender to bolster the team's ranks at the request of the coaching staff. This desire comes in order to provide greater defensive depth for the team and to cope with the numerous commitments and domestic and continental competitions in which Al Ahly FC participates.
