Anguissa suffers new muscle injury as Napoli set absence duration

Cameroonian Frank Zambo Anguissa, midfielder for SSC Napoli, has suffered a new setback after returning to participate with the team, as medical examinations revealed a muscle injury that will keep him off the pitch for the upcoming period.

Anguissa had missed SSC Napoli's matches against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League and Bologna in Serie A, before returning in the match against Fiorentina, where he participated in the final minutes and played only one minute.

SSC Napoli has announced that tests on the player revealed a low-grade muscle tear in the right thigh's long adductor.

Initial estimates suggest that Anguissa will need about two weeks to recover, coinciding with the international break. However, the club clarified that the duration of his absence may change later, as the player has been suffering from some pain in recent times.

SSC Napoli will return to action on October 10 when they host Frosinone, before facing Villarreal in Spain in the UEFA Champions League on October 13, and then visiting Venezia on October 17.
