Expected lineup for the Black Lions against Oman

Australian coach Graham Arnold has largely settled on the features of the starting lineup that the Iraqi national team will use in tomorrow's crucial match against Oman in the opening of their fixtures at the FIFA World Cup 'Gulf 27'.

Arnold has finalized the lineup during the recent training sessions held at Stadium C in King Abdulaziz Sports City, clearly focusing on blending experienced players who participated in the FIFA World Cup 2026 with new young faces making their international debuts.

Arnold is expected to rely on his preferred 4-4-2 formation, which provides the team with great balance between defense and attack, while depending on the vitality of the flanks and the strength of the midfield.

The lineup is expected to be as follows:

Goalkeeper: Ahmad Basel.

Defenders: Mirhas Doski, Akam Hashem, Zaid Tahseen, Mustafa Saadoon.

Midfield: Ali Jassim, Amir Fouad, Zaid Ismail, Ibrahim Bayesh.

Forward line: Ayman Hussein, Saif Rasheed Hameed.
