De Bruyne explains reasons for staying with Belgium and reveals his new role

Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne, aged 35, has confirmed his continued commitment to the Belgium national team, stating that he has not considered international retirement after the World Cup, and that his decision is linked to his desire to keep playing as long as he maintains his motivation and physical condition.

Kevin De Bruyne has explained that he spoke with new coach Mark van Bommel and several players after the World Cup to discuss the next phase for the national team, amid the changes the team is experiencing and the emergence of a new group of players.

The SSC Napoli player stated that he wishes to change the nature of his role within the national team, explaining that his goal is not only to continue playing but also to help young players and transfer his experience to them, while at the same time maintaining his activity on the pitch.

Kevin De Bruyne expressed his excitement for the new phase under Mark van Bommel, highlighting that the presence of new energy within the national team gives him extra motivation to continue. The Belgium national team is preparing to play four matches in the UEFA Nations League, starting with a clash against Italy on September 25, followed by matches against France, Turkey, and France again.
