Al-Ettifaq clarifies the truth about suing Ittihad over the "Itti" trademark

Al-Ettifaq has clarified its position regarding rumors of suing Al-Ittihad over the trademark 'Itti'. The club confirmed that its action was limited to a formal objection to the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.

Al-Ettifaq's spokesperson Khalid Al-Nasser clarified that the club has not filed a complaint against the federation, but has submitted an official objection to the exclusive registration of the trademark 'Itti'.

Al-Nasser wrote on his official account on the 'X' platform: 'In reference to what has been circulated regarding Al-Ettifaq's complaint against the brotherly club Al-Ittihad concerning the trademark Etti, I would like to clarify.'

The official spokesperson stated that the action taken by Al-Ettifaq is aimed at protecting the club's commercial rights, as well as preserving its right to benefit from the name 'Ittihad' for marketing purposes.

Al-Nasser emphasized that the title 'Itti' is a common and non-exclusive term for a specific club, confirming that it is not solely associated with Al-Ittihad, which prompted Al-Ettifaq to submit its objection.
