De Zerbi raises questions at Tottenham with surprise decision
Tottenham Hotspur are experiencing a tough start to the season, having lost to Aston Villa 3-2, leaving them without a win in the Premier League, despite Roberto De Zerbi's ongoing insistence on the need for his team to improve their physical condition.
The Italian coach has decided to grant players who did not join their national teams a full week of rest during the international break, with plans for them to return to training the following week.
Roberto De Zerbi had pointed out after the loss to Aston Villa the necessity of working harder with players like James Maddison, Conor Gallagher, Dominic Solanke, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Marcos Senesi, stressing their need to improve their physical condition, with a particular focus on Solanke to regain rhythm and strength.
The "Foot Mercato" website reported, citing "The Telegraph", that a week off was planned before the Aston Villa match, which is considered a normal practice during long international breaks that extend for three weeks.
Tottenham will not hold an external training camp or closed friendly during the break, with players set to return to Hotspur Way to resume training ahead of their match against Manchester United on October 10.
