Officially.. A major blow for Atalanta with Kossounou injury

Atalanta have officially announced the injury of their Ivorian defender Odilon Kossounou, after he underwent medical examinations that revealed a moderate to severe injury to the hamstring in his left leg.

The club confirmed that Kossounou has indeed begun his rehabilitation programme after suffering an injury during team training on September 19, which ruled him out of the recent match against Juventus in Serie A.

According to initial medical estimates, the Ivory Coast defender is expected to miss around two months for Atalanta, meaning he will be absent for several matches during the upcoming period, with his condition continuing to be evaluated and a more precise return date determined in the coming weeks.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Atalanta, who currently occupy 11th place in Serie A with 6 points after five rounds, as the team prepares to continue their domestic and continental campaign in the coming weeks.
