Flick and Mourinho's first meeting postponed to the clásico

The first meeting between Hans Flick and José Mourinho has been postponed after the Portuguese coach missed the annual meeting of first and second division coaches, which took place today, Tuesday, in the City of Football in Las Rozas.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", Flick attended the meeting that began at 12 PM, while Mourinho did not participate due to commitments in his schedule, thus delaying the first occasion that brings together the Barcelona coach and the Real Madrid coach.

The annual meeting for coaches is set to discuss complaints and concerns regarding their work, including discussions with referees, where coaches will pose their questions and referees will provide their responses in an effort to bridge perspectives.

Diego Simeone attended the meeting, where he spoke about the criticisms directed by José Mourinho at referee Ortiz Arias following the Madrid derby, emphasising the need for coaches to be cautious about what they say, given their status and the level of attention they receive.

Flick and Mourinho are set to meet for the first time on October 25 during the clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou, in the fifth match for both teams after the break.

The two coaches have faced each other once before, when Flick led Bayern Munich to a 3-1 victory over Tottenham, managed by Mourinho, in the final group stage match of the UEFA Champions League during the 2019/2020 season.
