Nature of Valverde's injury and expected absence

Real Madrid has officially revealed the nature of the injury suffered by midfielder Federico Valverde during the derby against Atlético. The Uruguayan player was injured in the match held in the Spanish capital.

The club announced in an official statement that the medical examinations conducted on Valverde today, Tuesday, under the supervision of the medical services of Real Madrid, revealed that he has sustained a third-degree sprain in his left ankle.

Real Madrid stated: "After the examinations conducted today on our player Federico Valverde by the medical services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with a third-degree sprain in his left ankle. The injury is subject to development."

According to several media reports, the Uruguayan star could be absent from the ranks of Real Madrid for a period of two to three weeks.

Valverde is working to be ready to participate with the team after the current international break, which will last about 20 days.
