The start against Kuwait: The Green's path to the "Gulf 27" title

The Saudi Arabia national team is preparing to compete in the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, hosted in Jeddah from September 23 to October 6, 2026, with high hopes of winning the title.

The Green will kick off their campaign against Kuwait on Wednesday, September 23, at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, before facing Oman on Saturday, September 26, and concluding the group stage with a match against Iraq on Tuesday, September 29.

Group A includes Saudi Arabia alongside Iraq, Oman, and Kuwait, while Group B gathers the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Yemen. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals scheduled for October 3.

The Green's ranking in their group determines their opponent in the semi-finals, as the group A leader faces the group B runner-up, while the group A runner-up meets the group B leader, before the final takes place on October 6.

The Saudi national team is competing in the tournament, benefiting from the home advantage as Jeddah hosts the Gulf Cup for the first time. Previously, the Kingdom hosted the tournament in Riyadh in 1972, 1988, 2002, and 2014.
