Génésio comments on his future with Marseille: I will speak with the club's officials

Bruno Génésio, the manager of Olympique Marseille, has left the door open to all possibilities regarding his future with the team, following the 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the French league classic, confirming that he will speak with his coaching staff and club officials after processing the defeat.

Genésio stated in remarks to "Ligue 1+": "It's funny that everyone wishes me good luck. I am a coach, and it is natural to be linked to performance and results, especially at a club like Marseille. What we are delivering is not enough, and I take my share of the responsibility, as others will also have to take their responsibilities."

"At the moment, I have not reached that stage yet. I will process this defeat, then I will talk to my staff and speak with the club officials. Because I believe, and I am trying to weigh my words, that it is not normal for Marseille to be in this situation."

The French coach spoke about the details of the defeat against Paris, saying: "The same problems and the same results as in the last match. We conceded another goal from a second ball after a set piece, and we were inattentive. We had a good first half, but unfortunately, we could not replicate that in the second half, and we suffered much more."

He continued: "We managed to come back to the score, which was not easy, but after two minutes we lost some focus, and perhaps we were still under the influence of the emotions of the equaliser. It is very unfortunate to concede a goal in that way. If we had conceded a goal from a counter-attack in the way that Paris Saint-Germain can execute, through triangular play and creating spaces, it would have been different, but conceding a goal from a second ball with that level of inattentiveness leaves a lot of frustration and regret."

Genesio stressed the necessity of improving his team's performance inside the penalty area, explaining: "In terms of commitment, I don't have much to criticize since the start of the season. But we need to be better in our penalty area and be much more attentive. Paris has the quality to make the difference and create imbalances."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "We cannot, just two minutes after scoring the equaliser, concede a goal in that manner. Over the course of 90 minutes, and although we suffered more in the second half, I believe we deserved to get a point. Here we need to be mentally stronger."
