Paris Saint-Germain edge past Marseille in Ligue 1
Paris Saint-Germain secured a thrilling 2-1 victory against hosts Marseille in the match held at the Stade Vélodrome, as part of the fifth round of Ligue 1.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, before Paris Saint-Germain succeeded in opening the scoring in the 66th minute through Ferran Torres, who converted a cross from Désiré Doué with a brilliant header into the net.
Marseille did not take long to respond, as Angel Gomes managed to score the equaliser in the 71st minute, bringing the match back to square one.
Paris Saint-Germain quickly regained their lead after Marquinhos scored the second goal in the 74th minute, before Marseille's task became even more complicated when Timothy Weah received a red card in the 77th minute.
Paris Saint-Germain's victory takes them to 8 points in 6th place in the Ligue 1 table, while Marseille remain on 3 points in 17th place.
