Benatia: Marseille need to rely on youth development and young talents

Moroccan Mehdi Benatia, former sporting director of Olympique Marseille, has confirmed that French football is going through a difficult financial phase, emphasizing the need to change the club's strategy and rely more on player development and nurturing young talents.

Benatia explained during his appearance on a sports program that the financial crises affecting French clubs make it necessary to seek a more sustainable model, rather than continuously relying on expensive signings in the transfer market.

The former Moroccan international highlighted that investing in Marseille's training center and giving opportunities to young players could be the foundation for a long-term sports project, combining financial stability with the technical development of the team.

Benatia believes that developing players within the club and giving them a chance to reach the first team could help Marseille reduce their reliance on the transfer market, as well as potentially benefiting from selling talents that are developed within the club in the future.
