Xavi calls up Meerdink and Til to replace Malen and Kluivert in Netherlands

The Dutch Football Association has called up Mexx Meerdink and Guus Til to the Netherlands national team to replace the injured duo Donyell Malen and Justin Kluivert.

These changes come ahead of the Netherlands' campaign in the UEFA Nations League under Spanish coach Xavi Hernández, who took charge of the Dutch national team last August.

Mexx Meerdink and Guus Til will join the rest of the national team players on Monday, September 21 in Zeist, preparing to play four matches during the current international break.

The Netherlands will begin their campaign on September 24 against Germany in Amsterdam, then face Serbia in Belgrade on September 27, before meeting Greece in Thessaloniki on October 1, and concluding the period with a match against Serbia again in Eindhoven on October 4.

Xavi's first squad also saw the call-up of Ruben van Bommel and Jeffay Zikheil for the first time with the senior national team, marking the beginning of the Spanish coach's era with the Netherlands.
