Manchester United escape certain defeat against Fulham in Premier League

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Fulham in the match that took place this evening at Craven Cottage, as part of the fifth round of the Premier League.

The first half saw a fierce contest between the two teams, with Manchester United missing several scoring opportunities, but failing to capitalize on them, ending the first half of the match in a goalless draw.

In the second half, Fulham succeeded in opening the scoring in the 63rd minute, after a move inside the penalty area of Manchester United ended with an own goal by Lisandro Martínez, giving the home side the lead.

As the match was heading towards another defeat for manager Michael Carrick's team, Matheus Cunha succeeded in scoring the equaliser in the 89th minute, after unleashing a shot that deflected off a Fulham defender and changed direction before finding the net.

Manchester United have increased their tally to 5 points in 12th place, while Fulham have raised theirs to 2 points in 19th place and second from bottom.
