Manchester City secures hard-fought win against Sunderland in Premier League
Manchester City secured a thrilling 5-3 victory over Sunderland in the match held at the Etihad Stadium, as part of the fifth round of the Premier League.
Manchester City took an early lead in the 9th minute through Enzo Fernández, but Sunderland quickly equalised in the 12th minute with Brian Brobbey.
Manchester City took the lead in the 29th minute through Ryan Cherki, before Brobbey scored his second goal to equalise for Sunderland in the 33rd minute.
Just before the end of the first half, Manchester City regained their lead with a third goal scored by Antoine Semenyo in the 43rd minute, and the same player added a fourth goal in the 57th minute.
Brian Brobbey pulled one back for Sunderland, scoring his third goal of the match in the 59th minute, before Erling Haaland sealed Manchester City's victory with the fifth goal in the 81st minute.
Manchester City raised their tally to 15 points with this win, taking the top spot in the Premier League table, while Sunderland remains on 4 points in fourteenth place.
