Koundé experiences new reality with Barcelona

Jules Koundé is experiencing a different situation with FC Barcelona this season, having missed three consecutive matches in LaLiga without playing a single minute, a first for him.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", the competition for a starting place at FC Barcelona has become fierce, as Hans Flick relies on performance levels rather than names. Jules Koundé started the season by playing for 10 minutes against Elche and Athletic Bilbao, then began as a starter against Rayo Vallecano, before featuring against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League, but he was substituted before the half-hour mark.

Since the match against Feyenoord, Jules Koundé has missed three consecutive matches against Levante, Racing, and Sevilla. Although Flick confirmed his ability to play as a centre-back, he has only used him as a right-back so far.

On the left side, Espart started four matches before losing his place to João Cancelo against Feyenoord, then regained the position against Levante, before sitting on the bench in the last two matches against Racing and Sevilla.
