Flick: Renewing Raphinha's contract is Barcelona's best decision, and this is Christensen's situation
Hans Flick, the head coach of FC Barcelona, expressed his happiness at the victory over Sevilla, praising the level that Raphinha is providing. He also spoke about Andreas Christensen's injury and the decision to play Dominik Livakovic in goal.
Flick praised the level Raphinha is showing, saying: "His level is high, we know his quality, we are happy, he is dynamic, he is a top-class player. The decision to place him in the number 9 striker position was made by the coaching staff, and he is very happy to play as a false nine."
Speaking about Raphinha's contract renewal, Flick said: "It's the best decision by the club; when you see him engaging with the fans and with the team, he is the perfect leader."
Barcelona's manager addressed Andreas Christensen's injury, stating: "He will be out for several weeks, it is a muscle injury, but we have to wait until tomorrow and conduct tests."
Flick also spoke about the decision to include Livakovic, saying: "That was my feeling, I spoke with the coaching staff and we made the decision this way, I felt today that he should play, this is specific to this match, it’s not personal, but about the team."
He added: "It's a complicated situation for me, I have to deal with these matters, Gavi is also not playing."
Regarding Rodri, Flick praised what the Spanish midfielder brings to the team, saying: "He is a wonderful player, controls everything, he is important for us, he gives us calm in possession of the ball, I think he fits very well with Pedri and the defenders."
