The French Council of State has upheld the decision to prevent Paris Saint-Germain fans from traveling to Marseille for their match against Olympique Marseille, scheduled for Sunday evening as part of the fifth round of Ligue 1.

The decision came after a request from the "Ultras Paris" group to suspend the French Ministry of the Interior's decision, along with the decision of the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture that prohibits Paris Saint-Germain fans from entering the Vélodrome stadium or moving and standing in several neighborhoods of Marseille during the match.

The Council of State justified the rejection of the request by stating that there is currently no evidence to prove that the contested decisions impose a clear and disproportionate infringement on the fundamental freedoms relied upon by the applicants.

The Ministry of Interior has based its decision on the risks of disturbances related to the history of confrontations between the fans of the two teams, as the match is classified among the highest levels of security risk.
