Arsène Wenger, the former manager of Arsenal and current head of global football development at FIFA, has praised the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the manager of the France national team, stating that the new coach of the "Les Bleus" will face a high level of expectations and pressure.

Wenger, in statements made on Saturday regarding Zidane's appointment as the head coach of the France national team, said: "He is in the right place, and everyone is waiting for him. There are a lot of expectations."

The experienced French coach added: "There is a strong rule in France that makes it very difficult not to achieve good results. But between reaching the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup and the final, there are years when things go well and others when they do not."

Wenger stated: "There are a lot of expectations, so he is under pressure, but he is used to it, having lived in such an atmosphere throughout his career. In any case, we wish him all the best, as we love to see the France national team win."

Zinedine Zidane has announced his first squad since taking charge, with his first match as manager of France set for Friday, September 25, against Turkey in the opening round of the UEFA Nations League group stage.
