Génésio takes responsibility for Marseille's decline ahead of Paris Saint-Germain clash

Bruno Genesio, the manager of Olympique Marseille, has taken some responsibility for the difficult start the team is experiencing, ahead of the anticipated match against Paris Saint-Germain, amid a run of four consecutive defeats.

Bruno Génésio stated at the press conference ahead of the "Clásico": "When you are a coach, the most important thing is to get the most out of the group at your disposal. Today, we can only acknowledge that we have not been able to do that, as the results are simply not enough."

The French coach added: "This is a personal review from me, as it would be very easy to hide behind external reasons and blame them. Some factors may contribute to explaining what is happening, but they are not enough to account for four consecutive defeats. There is an impact from me that has not been sufficient, as the mistakes are repeating and the matches are strangely similar, which means that I have not necessarily been able to find all the solutions that would allow for a change in the situation."

Despite a negative start, Genesio has reaffirmed his commitment to the squad and their ability to overcome the current phase, stating: "The players and I together. That is the most important thing if we want to weather this storm. In moments like these, we see the coaches and the players, and we simply see the men. These difficult and negative experiences are what build character and strengthen the group."

Genésio hopes to end the losing streak against Paris Saint-Germain in an upcoming match at the Vélodrome, reminiscent of last season when Marseille managed to beat the Parisian team 2-1, after Marquinhos scored an own goal in the 5th minute.
