Zidane confirms stance on Benzema's return to France

Zinedine Zidane, the new head coach of France, has settled the debate regarding the possibility of Karim Benzema returning to the "Les Bleus", confirming that he does not intend to call up the Al-Hilal striker at this time.

Zinedine Zidane responded to a question about the possibility of Karim Benzema's return, stating: "Why does the question cause controversy? On the contrary, it allows us to talk about Karim. I spent many wonderful years with him in Madrid, and I love Karim. He has provided great services and came to the France national team."

He added: "He has reached a certain age now, and I am very impressed with everything he has achieved during his career. But today, I need to see younger players to see what we can do together. This in no way diminishes his great career with the French national team or with the clubs he has played for."

Karim Benzema is 38 years old, and he had previously hinted at the possibility of returning to the national team if he continues to deliver good performances and maintain his fitness. However, Zinedine Zidane's recent statements suggest that the French coach is currently leaning towards building a new generation, which was also evident in his first squad list that featured the call-up of five new players.
