Officially.. Belgium's squad for UEFA Nations League
Mark van Bommel, the new head coach of Belgium, has announced the squad for the 'Red Devils' in preparation for four matches in the UEFA Nations League against Italy, France, and Türkiye. The squad includes 28 players.
Belgium's squad:
Goalkeeping:
Yari De Bock, Sin Lammens, Mike Benders, Martin Van de Voort.
Defence:
Timothy Castagne, Zeno Debast, Maxim De Cuyper, Koni De Winter, Brandon Mechele, Nathan Ngoy, Keryan Saïbi, Joaquín Sosa, Arthur Theate.
Midfield:
Kevin De Bruyne, Mandela Keita, Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Raskin, Yuri Tielemans, Hans Vanaken.
Forward line:
Charles De Ketelaere, Matias Fernandez, Malo Gusto, Romelu Lukaku, Dodi Lukebakio, Diego Moreira, Lois Openda, Leandro Trossard.
Thibaut Courtois has requested to be excused from participating in UEFA Nations League matches in order to manage his appearances. Meanwhile, Jérémy Doku and Amadou Onana are absent due to injury. Additionally, Alexis Saelemaekers and Thomas Meunier were not called up, while Axel Witsel has retired from international football.
Belgium's squad includes four players yet to make their senior international debut: Yuri De Bock, Mike Benders, Martin Vandefort, and Keryani Sabi. The Belgian national team will begin their campaign against Italy on September 25, before facing France twice and Türkiye during the international break.
