Referee appointed for FC Barcelona vs Sevilla in LaLiga
The Spanish Football Federation has appointed Juan Martínez Munuera as the referee for the Sevilla vs FC Barcelona match, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, at 10 PM Cairo time, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, as part of LaLiga.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", Martínez Munuera will lead his fourth match in LaLiga during the 2026/2027 season, and it will be the first time he officiates a match involving either Sevilla or FC Barcelona this season.
The Spanish referee previously officiated the match between FC Barcelona and Sevilla in LaLiga last season, which ended with the Catalan team winning 5-2. This was the only encounter he had with both teams as a referee.
Martínez Munuera has officiated 36 matches for FC Barcelona, achieving 20 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses. The last defeat came against Atlético, with a score of 4-0 in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, during a match that saw a goal by Pablo Sanchez disallowed for offside after a review that lasted 7 minutes.
Sevilla have played 38 matches under the referee, achieving 21 wins, 6 draws, and 11 losses. The last match he officiated for them was against Real Sociedad, which ended in a 1-0 victory in the 34th round of last season.
Raúl Martín González will serve as the Video Assistant Referee during the Sevilla vs FC Barcelona match.
