Mbappé: We can't sleep for 6 months and then say we want to win everything

Kylian Mbappé has stated in a lengthy discussion that Real Madrid must work from the start of the season to build the foundation that allows them to compete for collective titles at the end of the season. He also touched on the relationship in the dressing room and some other matters.

Kylian Mbappé said in a lengthy interview with the Spanish newspaper "AS": "This is also part of building the collective victories that will come in the second half of the season. We cannot sleep for six months and then say we want to win everything. Football is not like that, it is not that easy. You cannot do that."

He added: "That’s why we are now very focused, with the coach, with the club, and with the structure we have. We are very focused on what we have to do, but we must prove that on the pitch. As always."

Regarding the nature of the relationship inside the dressing room: "We must be good, be united, and work for a common interest, which is success and glory, glory for 'AS' in your case, and Real Madrid in my case."

He added: "Are you friends with everyone? This is a matter for the new generation of fans, as social media puts everything under the microscope. Because someone didn't shake hands with another, or because someone didn't smile... but that's normal. We know that this is the case, and we try to do our best so that things that are not true do not appear sometimes. The most important thing is Real Madrid."

Regarding the frequent need to provide explanations on certain matters, he said: "I think like you, but the problem is that people provide explanations on my behalf. It’s a very complex issue, but what we think about is just that Real Madrid wins; Real Madrid is more important than everyone, more important than any relationship, and more important than any ambition. It’s Real Madrid."

Regarding his relationship with his teammates at Real Madrid, especially with Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, he emphasized that each player brings different qualities to the pitch: "They are very different. On the field, they do completely different things. There are aspects of the game where Jude is better, and others with Viní or Jüler or Brahim or Diomand or Espi... Espi will score a lot of goals this season, he has a good relationship with scoring."

He concluded about the names he wishes to see return to Real Madrid, selecting a number of legends from the royal club: "Cristiano, Zidane, Ronaldo, if they could come back. Cristiano will return.
