Reports from Brazil indicate that João Pedro, Chelsea's forward, is suffering from a knee injury, which has led to his exclusion from the Brazil national team squad during the current international break.

The Brazilian Football Confederation has officially ruled João Pedro out of the matches against Australia and India, without disclosing the nature of his injury or the duration of his absence. Meanwhile, Martinelli from Fluminense has been called up as his replacement.

Reports from Brazil indicate that João Pedro suffered an issue during the recent match against Hull City, after falling awkwardly following an aerial challenge. Despite feeling pain in his knee, he completed the game and scored a goal for Chelsea.

Currently, there is no official confirmation regarding whether the injury is related to a strain in the anterior cruciate ligament or the collateral ligaments. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has left the door open for the possibility of João Pedro's participation against Brentford, confirming that the final decision will be made after assessing his condition.
