The French Football Federation's refereeing committee has appointed François Letexier to officiate the match between Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for the evening of Sunday, September 20, 2026, as part of the fifth round of Ligue 1.

The Velodrome Stadium hosts the anticipated clash between Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, kicking off at 9:45 PM Mecca time, amidst significant interest in the match that brings together one of the top clubs in French football.

François Letexier will be the referee, assisted by Mehdi Rahmouni and Cyril Mugnier as assistant referees, while Marc Bollengier has been appointed as the fourth official. In terms of video technology, Bastian Dechibey will serve as the VAR referee, assisted by Wilfried Péan as part of the video crew for the match.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently in seventh place in the overall standings with 5 points, while Olympique Marseille sit in thirteenth place with 3 points.

François Letexier will officiate the French classic for the fourth time in his career, having previously managed three encounters between the two teams. One of those matches ended with Olympique Marseille winning in the Coupe de France in 2023, while Paris Saint-Germain secured victories in two encounters in 2022 and 2024.

The French referee sparked widespread controversy during the FIFA World Cup 2026 due to his officiating decisions against the Egyptian national team in the Round of 16, which ended in a 3-2 victory for Argentina.
