Officially.. Clearlake takes full control of Chelsea

Chelsea have officially announced that companies affiliated with ClearLake Capital will acquire Todd Boehly's stake in the club, as part of a new transition of control over the London club.

Chelsea have confirmed that Clearlake will also acquire Mark Walter's stake, gaining full control of the club. Swiss businessman Hansjörg Wyss will remain a significant contributor and partner within the ownership group.

Under the deal, Todd Boehly will leave his position as chairman of Chelsea, having been one of the prominent faces in the ownership group since acquiring the club in 2022, while Clearlake confirmed that her focus in the upcoming phase will be on continuing to invest in infrastructure, sporting performance, and player development.

The club confirmed in its official statement that there will be no changes to daily operations or leadership or strategy, noting that the transfer of control marks the beginning of a new phase under the leadership of Clearlake, which has held the majority stake in Chelsea since 2022.
